.The Lunar crescent clock is made from strips of maple and walnut that are usually to small to use and are thrown away! but after shaping the strips they are glued to a birch ply base which gives stability. Part of the design look is the shadow lines change as you view the clock from different angles and also if you change the position of the hanger the lunar crescent is either waxing or waning.This is a totally unique clock that will make a statement wherever you hang it. The size of the clock is 16in diameter x 1.5in depth ( 40cm dia x 35mm depth)

With a natural slate dial which with its uneven texture looks great just waxed but can also be finished with acrylic silver paint that really stands out. Part of the design look is to have distinctive shadow lines as you view the clock from different angles. After sanding and finishing I then fix a maple frame to give a contrast to the clock( this can be removed to make a different look). This is a unique clock that will make a real statement piece. There is a little story to these clocks.
When a friend and myself were tidying up an old shed we found that some of the walls were made from old doors, on closer inspection we foundwritten on them, " KODAK darkroom keep closed". There used to be a Kodak factory a few miles from here, so years ago someone recycled these doors before it became fashionable! judging how the doors were so warped I should think 40 - 50 years ago. approximate size 20cm h x 23cm w x 4cm d and weighs 1.45kg. So now those old oak doors are being recycled again into beautiful clocks...2021.
